The machine in action applying pollen to olives in the spring of 2003.

The machine resting on a All Terrain Vehicle (ATV).   The gas powered engine is lower left.  The hopper where the pollen and SURE-SET mix are dumped in the middle and at the top of the stovepipe is where the pollen comes out.

The machine bolts down to the back of the ATV.   The machine weighs 70 to 80 lbs so it can easily be handled by two men for installation.

Features of the Pollen Applicator:

The Pollen applicator is easy to mount onto and dismount from the ATV !

1 - Allows you to apply pollen when you want, not when the applicator is ready.

2 - Allows you to work around problems in pollination season.    Problems such as:

A -      Non Synchronous blooming of varieties

Almonds require cross pollination.   The two adjacent rows are not blooming at the same time.    Supplemental pollen to achieve cross pollination and nut set is required for maximum fruit set.   In
almonds the largest factor in yield is nut set.

B -      Periods of poor weather followed by one day of good weather.    The bees may be working as hard as they can but it is too much to do in one day.    Let the Pollen Applicator help you in this one or two critical days.
